Kansas City, Missouri - Circa 1891 This photograph was taken from the Roof of the Hotel Victoria, 304 East 9th Street, looking West. McGee Street is at the bottom of the photograph with 9th Street on the Left hand side and 8th Street on the Right hand side (8th Street is NOT visible in the photograph). The following buildings are shown in this photograph: Rialto Building (Top Left side of photograph) at 9th Street and Grand Avenue; Keith and Perry Company (Top Left side of photograph Right Behind the Rialto Building) at 9th and Walnut Streets; Hotel Midland (Top Right side of photograph, White building) at 7th and Walnut Streets. The houses in the square block area are being razed to build the new U S Post Office and Customs House Original image published in the book, "Historic Street Scenes of Kansas City, Missouri, 1867-1931," by Raymond S. Elder, featuring the Val B. Minton Photographics Collection, page 31. Labels affixed by Ray Elder in preparation for his book, prior to transfer and archiving in The Jackson County Missouri Historical Society Archives.
