Kansas City Street Scenes

Kansas City, Missouri - 1926 The two women and the child in the photograph are walking on Oak Street and about to cross 11th Street. Val B Mintum took this photograph from one of the lower floors of the Telephone building, 324 East 11th Street. The second billboard from the left, advertising the movie, "The Show Off" was released in 1926. The small white building advertising "Hamburgers 5 cents" is a White Castle Hamburger Stand. all the buildings on the East side of Oak Street will be torn down and the present City Hall of Kansas City, Missouri will open 25 Octiber 1937 Original image published in the book, "Historic Street Scenes of Kansas City, Missouri, 1867-1931," by Raymond S.
