Kansas City View Looking North West

Kansas City, Missouri - Circa 1881 looking West-Northwesst and the bend of the Missouri River in now on the Right hand side of the photograph. The building marked "Noveltry" is a grain elevator built in 1879 with a capacity of 225,000 bushels. The 1879 address was listed as the "Missosuri Pacific Railroad Tracks and Santa Fe Street". Today that is the same as 9th and Santa Fe Streets. The Keystone Iron Works Company is listed in the City Directory of 1879 with as address of "Union Street near the Union depot". If the building existed today it would have an address of about 1000 West 8th Street. 8th Street is the unimproved street shown in Front of the building.
