100 West Maple Avenue, Independence

The Clinton Block, north side of Independece Square, northeast corner of Maple Avenue and North Main Street. Clinton's Drug Store was where Harry Truman got his first job (NOTE: Clinton's is NOT ON THE CORNER; but, one store to the west. E. L. Moore and Company). From a note attached to the image: Jim Clinton is to the lest side of the door, George W. Clinton on the right. Dr. Gaines (Noah) Dentist shingle is to the side of the building (on North Main), his office was upstairs (sign on window facing Maple). Dr. Gaines and his family (daughter Nell, son Hayden) lived at corner of presnet Truman Road and Delaware, northwest corner, once home of Lucas Choplin.
