Statue of "The Scout" and View of Downtown Kansas City
Color photograph of The Scout statue, with a view of the downtown Kansas City skyline. The Scout, is the name of this statue, of an Indian on his horse, facing west. It was cast for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. It was shown in Kansas City on a national tour afterwards. Kansas City citizens decided to raise the money to purchase it, and it was installed on this base in 1922, in Penn Valley Park.
