From the scrapbook of James M. Anderson, ca. 1917. View from 10th and Bluff. "Looking to the northwest over the bottoms. This and kindred picture on next page (of prior album) were taken in 1874 or 5. Already the railroads were occupying much space in the bottoms, and one sees considerable evidences of solid business in the structures shown in these pictures. To the right is Union Elevator, and in the distance you see Wyandotte, a lively village in that day; and you look over a big bend in the Missouri River, the current then running south of big sand bar shown here, but not in picture on the next page" (of album)."
